Adding Collaborators to Your Group

Start at zotero.org Links to an external site., and sign in with your Zotero username and password.

Click on the tab 'Groups' at the top of the page.

You should now see a list of the group(s) you've already created.

Click 'Manage Members.'

From here, you'll see a list of current members, which should be only you at this point.

Click 'Send More Invitations' to invite people to your Zotero group.

Enter the email addresses of any collaborators. (This will need to be the same email address they use for their Zotero account, so you may want to confirm these with your collaborators before sending.)

Click 'Invite Members' when you're ready.

They will receive an email with the email invite.

Once they accept the invite, you'll see them appear in the list of members.

You can click on the 'Role' drop down box for each member to decide if they should be a regular member or admin, or remove them from the group. If you make any changes, click 'Update Roles' before navigating away from the page or you changes will be lost.

The meaning of the 'member' or 'admin' roles is determined by your 'Library Settings,' where you can limit editing privileges to admins only if you want. The standard Zotero group allows any group member to edit the references within the group, and add or edit any files associated with the group. If you make any changes here, click 'Save Settings.'
