Property Search - Tables

After clicking the results button, we notice that our results page provides us with a collection of tables featuring various statistics:

Let's take a look at the first table, noting some of its key features:

A screenshot of a table from a property search with its name, source, and matching search terms. The table's title, parent text, material name, and molecular weight are emphasized.

From top to bottom, we see the following:

  • The name of the table.
  • The publication from which the table is taken (which links to the full work).
  • The table field which likely matches our chosen property (molar mass)
  • Highlighted words which matched our search terms.

One thing you may notice from this result is that the term molar mass is missing. This highlights an important aspect of how Knovel returns items in property searches: it returns best matches for a search, but this is not a guarantee that the returned items will match our exact search terms.

Therefore it is important to any review results from a property search and ensure that they match our needs appropriately.

In the next section, we will review a graph result from a property search.
