Change of Education Level or Program at U-M

If you decide to start to a new degree program at U-M after the end date of your post-completion OPT, the admissions office will issue a new I-20 to you. Please note that if the new I-20 is issued before the EAD end date, this I-20 does not end your OPT immediately. You must start the new program within 5 months of ending your OPT to be eligible for a change of level/change of program I-20.
