Travel with Approved OPT
After USCIS has issued an EAD card for post-completion OPT, in order to ensure the best chance of success for re-entry, you should be sure you have the following documents:
- Passport (valid for at least six months after you plan to re-enter the U.S.)
- Valid F-1 visa stamp in your passport (does not apply to Canadian citizens).
- I-20 (with a travel signature no older than six months from date of re-entry to U.S.)
- EAD card
- Job offer letter or employment verification letter. The letter should be signed by an authorized representative of your employer and include the information indicated under the Documenting OPT Employment Links to an external site. section of our website.
