Where to Mail Your OPT Application (If paper filing)

These instructions are only for students filing by paper, which we do not recommend.

Once you have carefully prepared your complete OPT application packet, you will need to mail the application to the appropriate current USCIS mailing address.

The current mailing address is available on USCIS' I-765 website Links to an external site.. Search by clicking the drop arrow tab titled "Foreign Students", and locating the address options associated with (c)(3)(B), Post-completion OPT.

If you mail your OPT application to USCIS via UPS, DHL, or FedEx, you must use a street address for the appropriate lockbox.

Alternatively, if you mail your OPT application to USCIS via the U.S. Postal Service, there is a PO Box address available for the lockbox.

Mail your application using a trackable method and keep record of your application delivery.
