Welcome to the Systematic Search Practice Sets site!

Informationists at the University of Michigan Taubman Health Sciences Library Links to an external site. created this site to help information professionals bridge the experience gap between systematic search training and real life engagement in evidence synthesis projects. While we all learn "on the job", it can be challenging to find ways to practice systematic searching in an asynchronous, low-stakes, instant feedback, and self-driven format, especially since teams are usually anxiously awaiting your search results!

Through this site you'll be able to construct and test searches against included studies in actual systematic reviews. We hope that this process will help you enhance your systematic search skills.

We have included information about the project on the About and Getting Started pages. When you're ready to test your search skills, go to the Practice Sets page (for health science topics) or the More Practice Sets page (for topics related to sciences, social sciences, and more), which includes all of the documentation you will need to construct and test your searches. We've also included some best practice resources for your convenience.

Good luck!
