Laser Cutting & Vinyl Cutting

Users are highly encouraged to complete the Laser Cutter Training Quiz Links to an external site. (the video link in the form seems to be broken. You can find the video here Links to an external site.) to gain access to the laser cutters.
Use the Laser Cutting Guide Links to an external site. or the Vinyl Cutting Guide Links to an external site. to ensure your file is ready for submission. If there are any errors, you will be notified so that you can fix them and resubmit the appointment request. You can also come into the Digital Fabrication Studio for a work-study to review your file and schedule your appointment, which is often faster and easier. Submitting the Digi-Fab Studio Signup Form is not required in this case.

Materials

Before purchasing any materials to be used in DigiFab, please check with Mike, Lonny, or a workstudy first so that we can make sure it works for the process and function that you want it for. Some materials may not work on our machines and some sources' materials aren't flat enough to work on our machines. It is best to get this confirmation rather than taking a chance at wasting money and time on something that wont work. Access & Scheduling

All equipment in the Digital Fabrication Studio may be reserved by currently enrolled Stamps students, faculty, and staff with a signed ECHO Borrower Agreement FormLinks to an external site. on file. Failure to follow the policies listed below may result in the permanent loss of studio access and other penalties as necessary. All files must be in a complete state, ready for the machines requested when submitted.

Equipment in the space must be reserved via the Digital Fabrication Studio Monitors/ Studio Coordinator or the Digi-Fab Studio Signup FormLinks to an external site. and WebCheckout FormLinks to an external site. (watch the Web Checkout TutorialLinks to an external site. for help scheduling). Both forms must be completed before equipment use. Students can reserve any machine they’ve had a demo on. If they have not had a demo, they may set up a time with the studio coordinator or the studio monitors to orient them to the machine they desire to use.
