Fiber Studio Overview
Four rooms comprise the Fiber Studios, where students can weave large or small-scale projects on digital jacquard and treadle looms, screen print and dye practically anything, and sew quilts, clothing, soft sculpture, packaging, and more.

Winter 2025 Unlocked Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
Attendance of a studio orientation is required to use the space at any time. Studio use outside of unlocked hours will require Mcard access, provided to students enrolled in Fiber courses who have filled out the Stamps After-Hours Access Form.
Links to an external site. Students must attend an in person training for each studio in order to gain access to it. Access to the sewing machines requires in person training and successful completion of the Sewing Machine Proficiency Test
Links to an external site.. Students not currently enrolled in a fiber course may gain access by contacting the studio coordinator with a project proposal and attending a demonstration/orientation. Please follow all of the Stamps Safe Studio Guidelines

Winter '25 Studio Orientations
Print & Dye Studio orientations are available to those who have taken a fiber course or received training from the studio coordinator prior to the 23-24 school year. Sewing Machine Demonstrations are available to anyone regardless of prior training. Attendance at an orientation is required for after-hours studio access approval. Please email the studio coordinator to reserve a spot: kitparks@umich.edu

Friday, Jan 17: 230-3pm
Winter '25 Sewing Machine Demonstrations will be offered at the following times:
Friday, Jan 10: 1-2pm
Friday, Jan 17: 1-2pm
Friday, Feb 7: 2-3pm
Please email the Studio Coordinator to reserve a spot in a sewing demonstration or print/dye studio refresher.
