ECHO: Policies and Reservations

ECHO

The Equipment Checkout Office, or ECHO for short (room 2144), provides Stamps students, faculty, and staff with a wide variety of resources at no cost to the user. ECHO focuses primarily on offering audio/visual equipment, but it also provides a range of drawing and animation tools. Users may borrow resources on the spot or place a reservation online ahead of time. Reservations for the Photo/Video Studio 2006 are made through ECHO, too.

Important Notes

For most questions you can visit our FAQ.

If ECHO needs to close unexpectedly due to staff availability...

From time to time ECHO may need to close unexpectedly and without much advanced notice. We know that this can be hugely disruptive to students that may be depending on borrowing an ECHO resource. We will do our best to notify students in advance whenever possible and will try to honor reservations when we are able to reopen. If you had equipment due for return during an unexpected closure, please plan on returning it the following open day. We will waive any late fees during these returns.

If you are looking to reserve ECHO resources that are not listed on the Online Portal...

Contact Joel Rakowski (stamps-echo@umich.edu) to inquire about the availability of specific resources.
