Introduction to AAEL
North Campus, located about one mile from Central Campus and the Diag, contains the College of Engineering, the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, the Taubman College of Architecture, and the Stamps School of Art & Design. Supporting these departments is the Art, Architecture, and Engineering Library (AAEL) Links to an external site. inside the Duderstadt Building.

The Duderstadt Building itself is open 24/7 during Fall and Winter terms. You'll need your MCard for access between the hours of 10pm and 8am. Always check the Library Location Hours by Building page Links to an external site. for current hours.
AAEL contains books and periodicals on art, architecture, music, and engineering. We also have an extensive graphic novel collection. Some highlights of the AAEL that won't be covered in this Canvas introduction:

- There are Course Reserve textbooks for many North Campus classes behind the Information Desk on the second floor
- Many student computer stations are available for use throughout the building, loaded with engineering software from the Computer-Aided Engineering Network Links to an external site. (CAEN)
- The first floor contains many high-tech labs Links to an external site., including a 3D-printing fabrication studio, video studio, audio studio, and a virtual reality cave provided through the Digital Media Commons Links to an external site.
