Accessing the Scopus Database
Scopus is an international, multi-disciplinary database for scientific, medical, technical, and social science disciplines. It is the recommended database for research for engineering students. It includes peer-reviewed literature in the form of scientific journals and articles, books and conference proceedings, preprints, and patents. Scopus features smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. U-M students have access to full-text articles in Scopus through the library's MGet It Links to an external site. button, displayed with this image:
When using Scopus, it is important to go through the U-M Library's website lib.umich.edu Links to an external site. in order to authenticate properly.
The quickest way to access Scopus Links to an external site. is to type in "scopus" in the Search box on the library's webpage at lib.umich.edu.
Then look for the "Go to database" link in the Databases results box. There will be many other results from Library Search, including books and articles, so be sure to for the "Databases" box.
If you are accessing Scopus off campus or on a network other than MWireless, you will be prompted to login using your uniqname and password.
