Finding a Standard with Google
Here is another scenario.
You need a standard that describes how to determine the appropriate attributes for a shelf life study of a new endovascular device. While you may be unsure at first which SDO would have created this standard, you can try a few techniques before starting your database search.
Step One
Do a Google search to see if any search results give you a hint to the SDO that developed your desired standard.
Step Two
Check the search results to see if there are any hints as to which SDO published related standards. Looking at the search results from the search in step 1, the American Society for Testing and Materials Links to an external site. (ASTM) has a standard for this type of study. This is a clue that you may need to search the ASTM database to find the standard you need.
