What is the SSC Learning Lab?

It is a professional development program that is approachable, engaging, and most importantly, focused on the topics that matter to you!

The SSC Learning Lab is a self-directed program that empowers learners to develop skills in the areas that interest them. Incorporating a wide variety of learning experiences, courses are generally structured as a progressive learning pathway, bringing value to learners at every level. Note - prerequisites are generally not required to participate at any level.

How do I participate in the SSC Learning Lab?

All Learning Lab courses are accessed and tracked in Canvas. Most Learning Lab courses offer independent, introductory, intermediate, and advanced-level materials as well as opportunities to apply what you have learned and connect with your coworkers.

Some courses, however, may be structured differently as a continuous learning pathway that requires completion of each level and represents a larger commitment. You may find a few other courses that also work a bit differently, but the goal is always the same - to offer growth opportunities that are flexible and relevant.

Finally, the Learning Lab is a place to try new things! You might be asked to use new software, engage with colleagues, or take a novel approach to a persistent problem. Remember, you are here to learn and we are here to support you! New skills take time and effort to develop, and the Learning Lab is the perfect place to practice!
