ACTING THROUGH SONG 339 was piloted in Winter 2024 semester and will be offered again this Winter, 2025.

It will be taught by , Prof. Matt Bogart (Broadway veteran of Jersey Boys w/Nick Jonas, Paradise Square, Aida, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Miss Saigon, Civil War, TV & Film) and Prof. Maurice Draughn (Music Director, multi-instrumentalist, performer with Detroit Symphony, Detroit Opera and Broadway in Detroit, UofM Productions).

COURSE DESCRIPTION
A fundamental performance course designed to blend the fine arts of drama and music. Units
will include physical and vocal engagement, musical storytelling techniques, character/lyric
analysis and repertoire-building with an exploration of styles inherent in plays and musical
genres.
