Clarification of the Eligibility Requirements (1)

1. I am in lawful F-1 status with a declared major field of study.

 

Lawful F-1 status:

You are in lawful F-1 status if you have a valid I-20 and your Most Recent I-94. record confirms that: 1) your Class of Admission is “F-1”, and 2) your Admit Until Date is “D/S.”  “D/S” means that you may remain in the US in F-1 status as long as you abide by F-1 regulations and your I-20 remains valid.  Please see the following link to our website for information on maintaining F-1 status. 

 

Declaration of a major field of study:

In order to obtain authorization for CPT, the training must be directly related and integral to your major field of study.  If your transcript does not show a declared major field of study, the IC cannot approve a CPT request.
