For this assignment you will be using the research article you found in the Evaluating the Research Article assignment. Remember that full-text access to an article you choose will be checked by the librarians, so make sure this is a full-text article (no abstract-level access only).
In addition, in this section you should have read Rachel Dunifon's article, "How to Read a Research Article Download "How to Read a Research Article"; questions that follow will be based on this reading.
Provide complete sentences and answers to each of the following questions:
- Using the SQ3R Method (linked as a PDF in this section of the module) in conjunction with your selected research article provide a synopsis of your article that is reflective of your own voice. Do not include quotes from the article. The synopsis should be entirely in your own words.
- Describe the structure of your research article. What does the scaffolding look like in your research article? What are the different sections (headings) in your research article?
- Using the 7 steps identified by Rachel Dunifon look at your research article and provide 1-2 sentences that identify what is in your research article. Your response to this question should include all 7 steps with clear ties to the sections of your research article.
Note: It is strongly suggested you draft your response in a Word document or other safe place so you do not lose your work. Once you are done copy and paste it here or upload it as a file to complete the assignment.
