Setting Up Zotero - Step 1: Download the Software

Start at zotero.org Links to an external site., and click the big red download button.

From this page, click the blue download button on the left-hand side of the page. Zotero should identify whether you have a Mac or Windows machine.

Follow the installation instructions prompted by your computer. Once completed, you should be able to open the new app, which should look something like this (Mac users may see some slight variations):
