Thanks to the generosity of several donors, the Stamps School is able to provide scholarships to support internship experiences for qualified freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Internship funding may affect your financial aid package so make sure you are aware of how this funding may affect you.

Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis. Please note that early application for these funds increases the likelihood of funding.

REMEMBER: You must submit your Internship Proposal BEFORE you can be considered for Internship Funding.

Eligibility:

• Must be an undergraduate enrolled in a Stamps degree program. Internships after graduation do not qualify.
•For summer internships, must be returning to the Stamps School in the Fall term.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Must have completed at least one full U-M academic year.
• Please note if you do not complete the internship as agreed/proposed, you will be required to return these funds to the University

Internship Positions must meet the following criteria:

• Internship must be for at least 150 hours.
• Internship duration must be a minimum of six weeks.
• Internship location may be international or domestic.
• Internship may be paid or unpaid.

Examples of eligible expenses include:
• Housing
• Food
• Transportation
• Equipment required to complete the internship virtually if not provided by your employer

Examples of ineligible expenses include:
• Expenses incurred from personal travel or vacations
• Regular expenses that a student pays outside of their internship (e.g. car payments, auto insurance, long-term medical expenses, credit card bills, etc.)
• Entertainment expenses

Internship Scholarship awards vary depending on the cost of a student's internship experience and their financial need. Higher award amounts are typically reserved for students with higher internship expenses such as those who are interning abroad.
