This course investigates acts of culture jamming that encourage creative expression in the realms of commerce. We explore various strategies that ask artists/designers to critically consider their work in terms of labor, production, audience and distribution. How can we tell the stories that corporate news media won’t cover? How do we use strategies of surprise and subversion to disrupt the flow of commerce? How do we actively critique media and consumer myths? How does the production of art compare and differ with the production of commercial objects?
