Reserve the Sewing Machine

We are excited that you are ready use the sewing machine in the Design Lab Workshop. Our resources are open and available to you and we don't charge at the Design Lab. In lieu of payment we ask for a short blog post about your project which you can complete within two weeks of using the space. This helps us grow our community and can showcase the cool things people are doing at the Lab.

We have different needles, thread, bobbins, pins, and scrap fabrics available and inks for the letterpress. You can bring in your own material or other components for your project. If you need a specific needle or have any questions you may also list them in the form below. 

To reserve the sewing station:

1. Complete our google form(Links to an external site.) Links to an external site. with the information pertaining your use. A staff member will reach out within one to two business days to help you schedule a time to come into the workshop. 
2. After your are finished email a brief blog post (text and images) documenting your finished project to shapirodesignlab@umich.edu.
