Using Printable Sticker Paper
Using Printable Sticker Vinyl
The Cricut Vinyl Cutter is also capable of using Cricut Sticker Paper, which is useful in applications where a detailed, multicolor sticker is needed.
Important!
Cricut Compatible printable vinyl/sticker paper is only compatible with inkjet printers.
The University does not provide inkjet printers for student use.
Thus, while we are more than happy to accommodate cut jobs for printable vinyl stickers, it is up to the user to provide the inkjet printer, sticker paper, and may need their own Cricut account.
Preparing the File:
Much like importing a file for cutting, the image import process is similar
1. Upload your image, and select "Complex" when prompted image type
It is highly advised to not remove your background. If you wish for a die-cut appearance, ask for a Shapiro Design Lab staff member to help you add a stroke to your image in photoshop.
2. When finalizing your design in the upload menu, choose the "print then cut" option.
3. Add your image to the canvas as usual, and manipulate it as usual.
Once the image has been manipulated to your liking, save your project to your Cricut account
Printing the File
1. Once your image has been transformed and manipulated to your liking, prepare to cut the image by clicking "Make it"
2. Upon entering the cutting screen, you will be prompted to print the image.
If printing outside of the Design Lab, print to PDF, and print at your desired location. Make sure you have saved the project to your Cricut account. Otherwise, you will lose all your data and will not be able to cut your sticker when returning to the SDL. Cricut advises to print and cut in one session, if possible.
Add a bleed, if you believe it is necessary to avoid any white edge marks on your sticker.
