Navigating the Cricut Design Program
Working with the Cricut Design Program
Got your design? Ready to cut? Alright. Let's move to the Cricut Design Program.
Once you open the app, we start by clicking "New Project" in the upper right corner. This opens the workspace (pictured below)
1. Once the grid space is open, we want to click "Upload image" (pictured above). In the new menu, we will be able to upload our design through the "Upload Image" button.
You will be prompted through several steps as to how you'd like to process the image.
If this is your first time cutting, Design Lab Staff will help you choose the best options for your image here.
Caution! Do not select "Print then Cut!". It will require us to re-upload your image!
2. Once your image is uploaded, select it, and then add it to the canvas through the bottom in the bottom right corner.
3. Once your image has been moved to the workspace grid, you can manipulate it as you wish. This includes moving it, resizing it, and mirroring it. (Pictured Below)
Important Notes!
- When resizing your image, if you wish to keep the image proportions the same, hit the "Lock" icon in the resize toolbar (pictured)
- Select all parts of your design and select "WELD" in the bottom right of your design to ensure that cricut design space does not separate small parts out!
4. Once you're satisfied with design, click "Make it" in the upper right corner to begin cutting! (Design Lab staff will check over your settings and ensure everything is correct)
