Unit(s) involved: School of Information, College of Engineering, others as needed.

Summary: This research will study privacy perceptions and concerns regarding AR technology, and develop approaches to protect privacy in AR applications without negatively impacting the utility of the AR application (privacy-friendly design).

The research will be conducted in collaboration with other faculty across campus that work with or want to develop AR/VR applications that may have privacy implications; and security/privacy researchers from the College of Engineering who are developing privacy-preserving technologies for AT technology; and faculty building novel AR technology to embed privacy mechanisms in system design.
