Optional CPT: Enroll in CPT Course

If you are applying for Optional CPT, your academic advisor can help you enroll in a Registrar Designated CPT course (an override may be needed). Designated CPT courses are set up and approved by the U-M Office of the Registrar Links to an external site.. Fall or Winter CPT-

• You must be registered for the CPT course during that term.

Spring/Summer CPT-

• You may register either in the preceding winter term or during the spring/summer term unless your academic department requires otherwise.

Winter CPT and Spring /Summer CPT-

• You must be registered for the CPT course during winter term and during spring/summer term.

Course registration for Optional CPT is required. You may not drop this course after obtaining CPT authorization. Please be aware, course registration may impact your tuition and fees.
