Running UDOIT Scan
Once enabled within a course, UDOIT can be used to run checks on Announcements, Assignments, Discussions, Files, Module URLs, Pages, and Syllabus areas in your course. UDOIT can be run multiple times on the same course and can be used to check accessibility after adding new content into your course.
To run these checks, simply navigate to the UDOIT menu item. Once you are within the tool, you are given the option to select which content you would like to run through the tool. After completing this step you can run the scan and receive a report that details any errors or suggestions for your course.
There are two important things to note when using UDOIT:
- UDOIT does NOT scan any uploaded documents, attached or embedded files, and external websites (For the Files page/section, only HTML files are scanned). Any non-HTML items will need to be checked and repaired manually. Therefore please make sure you are adhering to the accessibility practices mentioned in the prior pages.
- You have to enable UDOIT in each course that you teach.
If you have any questions about using UDOIT please contact content.accessibility@umich.edu
To run a scan:
- Select the content you want to scan.
- For large courses, it is recommended that only one checkbox be checked per scan.
- Click the Run scanner button located at the bottom of the page.
- Do not attempt to go to a different page from this web browser tab while the scan runs.
